Keyport Pivot 2.0 Review
General thoughts after a week of usage/size comparison/practicality/interesting things:
• So I have a new addition to my EDC collection… and as you can tell, it’s not a flashlight! This is the Keyport Pivot 2.0 – a Multitool/EDC key organizer with a large range of additional modules and accessories. Keyport is a small, veteran-owned business based in Vegas. Keyport has sent me a sample of the Pivot 2.0 for review, though I haven’t been paid to make this video, and I can say what I want about this tool. Initially, I wasn’t sure whether to accept this review model because key organizers aren’t that exciting to me. Still, the added functionality of the electronic business card, knife, flashlight, and escape tool got me curious to see what it could do.

• What do you get in the box? It depends on which kit or accessories you buy. Here are some you can opt for:

• Keyport dedicated this tool to Nebiyu Detti, one of their previous employees, who tragically passed away in 2017. His story is on the Keyport website.
• Blade Material: 8Cr13MoV
○ Pocket Flare 2.0
• The side lamp mode is surprisingly bright @90 lumens (1.5 hours) but also has a 4-lumen low mode that lasts 15 hours. Inbuilt li-ion cell. IPX4.
• basic tests: Ceiling bounce/CCT. Decent sustained output – the metal backplate appears to act as a heatsink.
Demonstration – build your tool
• Light – with the MOCA or RUSH tool inside. Maybe the NEBA knife on one side, the scale on the other side.
• Heavy – MOCA/RUSH on the inside with two keys + NFC card. Outside – Pocket Flare 2.0, Escape tool + NEBA Knife + Scale.
• Each module is also stand-alone – you can attach it to a keychain easily.
• The metal tool modules are machined well with no imperfections and are constructed from stainless steel.
Overall Construction, design, and practicality/ergonomics
• I’m impressed with the attention to detail and clever design. Great quality construction with no imperfections or rough spots on the Pivot. Anodized 6061 aluminum. Each module integrates well with the main unit through a connection system that has a sturdy locking mechanism. You need to use a sharp tool to deactivate the lock on each module.
• I had a lot of fun trying different configurations, and swapping bits in and out to come up with my perfect tool. There is a ratcheting locking system that stops the tool from coming loose – there are a couple of smaller bearings that come in contact with the base of the screw to ‘lock’ into place under high tension. You can use a coin or screwdriver to turn the screw 1/4 turns to obtain the perfect level of tension.
Considerations
• All the different modules can add up in price, but you’ll probably only need a couple depending on your circumstances. Looking at some other key organizers on Amazon, I can’t find any that can add extra tools or modules. This makes it more functional, and something you can carry around, and not notice until you need it.
• The band connecting the two sides of the tool is made of TPU – it’s thick and feels durable, but I would have preferred the metal band that was used in the previous model.
• You can stack some tools on the exterior but the entire thing starts feeling a bit chunky. I like to keep 1-2 tools attached to the exterior and one inside at most.
• Non-replaceable battery for the flashlight module. It will last 400+ cycles and is relatively cheap to replace.
• The bottle opener on the MOCA tool is a bit awkward to use as there’s no stop. I’d suggest getting the 2.0 version instead which has the same design as the NEBA knife.
Verdict
• I’m amazed at the attention to detail and effort Keyport has put into something seemingly as simple as a key organizer! It reduces pocket clutter, makes life easier, and helps me organize my smaller belongings. I like the ability to customize the tool the way you want it, to turn it into a multi-tool by adding extra modules. This is something unique in this niche, and I don’t see anything else like it on the market.
