Two compact flashlights. Two very different philosophies. The Nitecore EDC37 and the Loop SK05 Pro might look similar at first glance, but they’re built for completely different users.
The EDC37 is all about speed and simplicity… with one-step access to strobe, spot, and lumen-shield. It’s a tactical-style flashlight that’s fast, aggressive, and perfect for self-defense or high-stress situations.
The SK05 Pro, on the other hand, is a feature-packed all-rounder. You get RGB, flood, throw, auxiliary modes, and the ability to swap out batteries – all in a futuristic sci-fi design. But there’s a catch… the UI takes some getting used to.
In this video, I compare both side-by-side. We’ll look at build quality, brightness, runtime, user interface, what each light is actually good for, and some honest pros and cons.
Both were sent to me for review initially (for separate review videos), but I don’t play favourites. This is my honest take on two popular lights that do things very differently.
Let me know which one you’d pick in the comments – or if there’s another flashlight you think beats both.
