I’ve already reviewed the titanium Loop Gear SK06, but now I’ve finally got my hands on the aluminium version – so it’s time to put the two head-to-head.
The Loop Gear SK06 is one of the most unusual EDC flashlights I’ve come across, combining a 2,400-lumen main flashlight, laser, 365nm UV LED and multipurpose LED strips into a surprisingly compact package.
But which version is actually better?
In this video I’m comparing the titanium and aluminium SK06s after using them in the real world, including their construction, weight, heat management, runtime, step-down behaviour, turbo reactivation and overall practicality.
There are also some interesting differences beyond the materials. The titanium version has a unique cyan laser, while the aluminium version uses a brighter green laser. The aluminium model is also lighter and better at dissipating heat, while titanium offers a more premium feel and should be more resistant to scratches and drops.
I’ll also compare both SK06s with some of my other EDC flashlights to see how they stack up in terms of size and practicality.
