Brighter Flashlight in 5 Minutes? Spring Bypass Tutorial

I did a spring bypass on my Sofirn IF22a and IF25a recently.

What’s a spring bypass?

It’s a way to improve current flow/resistance on the tail cap of your light = increased brightness and runtime. You solder a wire to the top and bottom of the tail-cap spring. You can also do this to the spring on the head of the flashlight (I’ve not tried that yet).

It boosted the lux figures on both significantly. Especially the IF25a.

You’ll need:
-soldering iron/solder
-wire (AWG 20-22 or heavier, silicon insulated)

Check first on forums to see if it’ll make a difference with your light. This doesn’t work for all lights.

If you have any questions, leave them below and I’ll get back to you.
