Nextorch TA30C Max (3000 Lumens, XHP50.3 HI) Comprehensive Review

In this video, I review the Nextorch TA30C Max. I’ve been waiting for this one to come out for some time since Nextorch told me they were designing an upgraded version of the TA30C. This is by far my favorite tactical flashlight that I own. From the military-grade construction, upgraded XHP50.3 HI, premium titanium bezel with glass breaking beads, metal tail switch with battery indicator, and secondary rotating switch design – it has everything you want in a tactical flashlight! I’ve noticed the throw is greatly improved with the new LED upgrade, but the flood is wide and stronger than the TA30C. If you’re looking for a tactical flashlight or curious about them, make sure you don’t miss out and watch this video.

I was sent this flashlight as a sample from Nextorch. I was not paid to make this video. All opinions are my own.

Nextorch TA30C Max video transcript

General thoughts after a week of usage/size comparison/practicality:
• This has got to be my favorite of all the Nextorch tactical flashlights. It just ticks every single box I can think of for a tactical flashlight, and the attention to small details and features is incredible.
LED, lens, bezel, and reflector
• XHP50.3 Hi – Nextorch has opted for a specialized LED in the TA30C Max. De-domed and has greatly improved throw whilst still retaining floody characteristics on the peripheries.
• AR lens with a titanium bezel (confirmed) for low reflectivity and extra durability. Three glass-breaking ceramic beads. I’m always impressed with how Nextorch creates such a low-key and sleek head design with subtle cutouts but still has excellent sustained output. Anti-roll.
• OP reflector. As you guys know, I love throwy flashlights, and an SMO reflector option would have been exciting but the reality is that throwy SMO reflector flashlights have limited short and medium-range applications. They are just not ideal for day-to-day use due to the intensity of the hotspot and reduced spill. The XHP50.3 HI, paired with the OP reflector gives you the best of both worlds.
UI – modes
• Demonstration
• Very impressed with the dual-stage switch. I prefer this over the one in the TA30 Max, as you can feel the point where the second stage switch kicks in. Press until you feel resistance, then press slightly harder. Good as it stops you from accidentally activating the strobe.
• Battery indicator on the tail switch.
Performance – total output, beam profile, longevity, practicality
• Ceiling bounce test, CCT/CRI
• 3000 genuine lumens at ANSI standard is impressive for a light of this size. Great balance of throw and flood. Best of both worlds.
• 2 hours 45 mins runtime on high, 35 hours on low.
• I’ve said this before but Nextorch flashlights including this one, but it really feel like I’m using a professional tool – it’s perfectly balanced with no battery rattle, reinforced battery tube, titanium bezel, and 2m shock resistance will make this a hard-wearing and practical flashlight. It’s over-engineered to be suitable for law enforcement and military usage.

Considerations
• Will only accept non-proprietary button top 21700 cells with added length.
• Feels snug in my jeans pocket, this is probably the largest flashlight I will carry on me. But technically this is not an EDC light.
Verdict
• Highly recommended, if you’re looking for a high-quality, tactical flashlight with all the bells and whistles, this is the one to get. The UI is the easiest and most intuitive I’ve used. The overall feel and quality of the flashlight is something I appreciate the most. There’s a high level of attention to detail in the internal components like the dual layer battery tube, electrical insulation, unique tail switch design, and bypassed spring to lower resistance. The titanium bezel and high tensile belt/pocket clip are things you only see in high-end flashlights.
